Field Trip: The Sixth Floor Museum

     After we left my friend's house, we went to find Green Spot Market (no pics), a gas station/convenience store that we have been to before. Instead of typical gas station fare, it has healthier organic and vegan snacks. We had been hooooping to have the vegan soft serve, but the machine was down. Trauma!!! We picked out some early lunch/snacks, and then headed downtown...

  to The Sixth Floor Museum.

 

     The museum is held in the former Texas School Book Depository Building, which was originally a wagon shop. It became well known after Lee Harvey Oswald, an employee, was believed to have shot President John F. Kennedy from a high window during a parade.

     We listened the audio tour with headphones as we walked around also reading the exhibits.

      I just love history museums (although obviously wish there was no need for ones with such horrible circumstances as this one). I feel like it helped them all understand the story and event so much more than having just talked about it in the past as we had. I recommend a visit to anyone who likes history and is interested in the tragic story, mystery, and conspiracy theories that surround it to this day.

     Next, we had planned to eat at our favorite Dallas restaurant, Spiral Diner. I had missed it! It didn't disappoint - so many choices on the menu, quick service, and delicious food.

 

 It's always a pleasure!

     We departed the Dallas area and headed south toward San Antonio where my aunt and uncle live. We met them at Jason's Deli for supper, to catch up and start planning our activities for the next few days. We also followed them to my late grandmother's old house, where we stay when we are in town, and they helped us get settled in.

      Ended my night like this...when we are busy, traveling, and he has been in the car seat away from me for hours, we have lots of cuddles to catch up on.
